Hope for Hoops Founder - Kaitlyn Dinkins

Kaitlyn Dinkins is a talented, young student athlete.  She began her basketball career at the age of five and immediately fell in love with the game.  It is both her passion for the game as well as her passion for excellence that have been significant drivers in helping her continually improve her individual, basketball skills.  Kaitlyn’s accomplishments on and off the court are many.  She was an honor student at Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia and now attends college.  She received numerous academic and athletic honors while attending Pace.  She was a key contributor on the Peak Performance Elite Gold AAU Basketball Team for the past five years.  Kaitlyn recognizes how difficult it is to maintain high academic standards while performing at a high level in athletics.  She created this scholarship award in order to inspire, motivate and encourage young, female athletes to strive to be the best they can be in the classroom as well as on the basketball court.

One of my favorite mottos is from Vince Lombardi:

“Leaders aren’t born, they are made.  And they are made just like anything else, through hard work.”

 It has been hard work that has rewarded me with the many successes I have achieved over the years.  I want to be able to share my success with others through this scholarship, and hopefully provide the financial support needed for fellow student-athletes to realize their dreams.   Kaitlyn Dinkins
